Frustration again…

OK, once again, frustration is rolling in. I feel like a boat going up stream. This second chapter is getting really tough. But not in the sense that I don’t know what I want to write, I know exactly what I want to write, but can’t. Been at this very juncture many times already. Chapter Two

SLCC 2006

This weekend I attended the Second Life Community Convention in San Francisco. My goal was to get an insiders look on things. It was a great gathering, less academic than social. Not sure what i will do with all this information in terms of my dissertation, but it will definitely help me with the class that I am teaching this fall.
I am trying to get my department to buy ten licenses for Patchwork Girl, $65 all in all, and they are still dragging feet, and Ohio State is conducting course in virtual campuses! How sad is that?
But i did find out some really shaky information about SL. It turns out they don’t have backups for their servers. In other words, if something happens to the current server, there is no backup. Nonetheless, if this company fails in creating the virtual reality, the next one will be sure to succeed. Exciting times…
